Alpha Fidelis
Sperm Donor Compensation

What Sperm Donors Earn

Compensation is paid per approved sample and adds up meaningfully over the 6–12 month active donation period. All screening costs are covered — you pay nothing out of pocket.

Quick Answer

Sperm donors at Alpha Fidelis typically earn $800–$1,500 per month during the active donation phase, paid per approved sample on a regular schedule. All medical screening, genetic testing, psychological evaluation, and travel costs are fully covered. There is no cost to you at any point in the program. The full commitment spans 6–12 months, including an FDA-required 6-month sample quarantine period.

How Much Can You Earn?

Compensation is paid per approved sample. Donors who visit 2–3 times per week typically reach the monthly figures below. Samples that do not meet quality standards for that visit are not counted toward your compensation.

What Is Covered
All Medical Screening
Initial bloodwork, semen analysis, STI panel, and genetic carrier screening are all conducted at no cost to you. Results are shared with you for your own health awareness.
Genetic Testing
Expanded carrier screening for 200+ hereditary conditions. The cost is covered in full. Positive results do not automatically disqualify you — they are disclosed to matched recipients.
Psychological Evaluation
A confidential session with a licensed psychologist experienced in third-party reproduction. This is standard and fully paid for.
Travel & Mileage
Round-trip mileage to the clinic is reimbursed at the IRS standard rate for every visit during the active donation phase — typically 2–3 visits per week.
FDA Re-Testing
Per federal regulations, all donors are re-tested at the end of the 6-month quarantine period before samples are released. This testing is covered in full.
Independent Legal Review
Your donor agreement is reviewed with you before you sign. Legal guidance is provided and covered as part of the program.
On compensation and ethics guidelines: Under American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) ethics guidance, sperm donor compensation reflects time and inconvenience — not payment for sperm itself. This is standard practice across all accredited sperm donor programs and is reflected in how your donor agreement is structured.

When and How You Get Paid

The sperm donor program spans three phases. Here is what to expect in each one.

01

Screening & Acceptance

During the screening phase — semen analysis, bloodwork, psychological evaluation — you are not yet compensated per sample, but all testing costs are covered. Most programs provide a participation stipend once you are formally accepted.

02

FDA Quarantine Period (6 months)

Per FDA regulations, samples are frozen for 6 months before they can be released for use. You continue making regular donations during this period. You are compensated for every approved sample deposited, even during quarantine.

03

Active Donation Phase

After quarantine, samples are released and you continue donating on the same schedule. Compensation continues per approved sample. Most donors remain active for 6–12 months total.

FDA Regulations

The 6-Month Quarantine Explained

The FDA requires all donated sperm to be frozen and held for a minimum of 6 months. At the end of that period, you are re-tested for infectious diseases. If the re-test is clear, your samples are released for use. This quarantine protects recipients and is required by federal law — it is not unique to Alpha Fidelis or any specific clinic.

You continue making donations and receiving per-sample compensation throughout the quarantine period. The quarantine does not pause your active donation schedule.
